In Ellen White’s day, there were different definitions of “person” and “personality”. I find it interesting that people are so quick to ascribe a particular definition of “person” that suits their theology when reading her writings.

Trinitarianâs Objection: If the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ are the same as how non-trinitarians claim then how is it that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost is not forgiven but speaking against Christ shall be forgiven? How can one be forgiven and not the other if they are the same person?
âWe need to realize that the Holy Spirit, WHO IS AS MUCH A PERSON AS GOD IS A PERSON, IS WALKING THROUGH THESE GROUNDS, UNSEEN BY HUMAN EYES; … HE HEARS EVERY WORD WE UTTER and knows every thought of the mind.â â (E.G. White, 2SAT, pp. 136, 137, 1899)
Wind is simply understood as a current of air or the movement of a body of air in a certain direction. Our breath operates on this same principle. When we breathe, we are simply moving air in and out of our lungs. The Holy Spirit is symbolized by both the wind and the breath in the Bible. Notice this interesting exchange between Christ and His disciplesâŠ

In the first chapter of Genesis we read the record of the creation, and as a part of the record, these words, “The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” The word “moved” comes from a Hebrew word, “to flutter,” or “brood.” It gives us the idea of energy, of vibratory power, of life-producing impulseâŠ
As the title suggests, the book, âQuestions and Answers No 1â published in 1911, contains a total of 270 questions âGathered from the Question Corner of the Department of the Signs of the Timeâ and answers them accordingly, authored by M.C. Wilcox. Below is an excerpt taken from pages 180 to 182, with questions #186 and #187 dealing with the subject of the Holy Spirit.
If the Holy Spirit is really a co-equal, co-eternal personal âbeingâ just like the Father and the Son as Trinitarians claim, then you need to reconcile why the mention of the Holy Spirit âBeingâ is conspicuously omitted in all of these following statements. If you’re honest with yourself, please check out these statements and consider whether you have a balanced view with respect to your theology that can fit these statements:
The article addresses one of a few manuscripts written by a stenographer where she presumably spoke the following words: “and they fall down and worship the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Ms 139, 1906)
Does Acts 5:3-4 say the Holy Spirit is God or that they lied to the âAlmighty Godâ as it is His Spirit? Acts 5:3-4(KJV) âBut Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.â
